 | All mountain Skis: Have a mid wide width, with a slightly set back binding mounting position, or optional binding mounting positions. This gives you the best versatility all over the mountain. These skis will perform well on groomers, fresh snow, and bumps. These skis can have stiffer flexes which will allow a more experienced rider to get the most out of the mountain.
Backcountry Skis: Have a wider than average width, with a set back stance to put more weight over than tail of the ski and get the nose to float over the fresh snow. Also you may notice a narrower tail and wider tip to create the same effect. These skis may have a softer flex or reverse camber to aid the float of the ski in the back country. These skis will perform best in fresh snow and can be ridden on packed snow as well.
Park and Pipe Skis: The name says it all, when throwing down in the park or in the pipe or on big booters these skis will kill it all day. These skis have a mid to wide base to help give balance on rails and boxes, and also helps stomp those big landings. These skis will have either center mounted binding positions or optional center mounting. Center mounted bindings give you the best possible position on the ski to ride forward or backward, and center your balance on all jibs. Do not be afraid to ride a center mount ski you can still tear up the whole mountain with these skis, but will be easier to throw down in the park.
